SUBMISSIONS OPEN ON OCTOBER 1, 2023
Submission Guidelines
We collect submissions through Duosuma, Duotrope's submission manager.
Submission guidelines are below:
-
In line with our mission, we greatly encourage those with no publication history to submit!
-
We accept unpublished work only (poems posted on personal social media are fine!).
-
You must be at least 18 years old to submit.
-
Submit up to three poems, individually or in one file (both options are available once you reach the file upload screen). If you include more than three poems, only the first three will be read. The rest will not be considered.
-
Simultaneous submissions are encouraged! However, should any poems submitted to Impostor be accepted by another publication, please withdraw them via Duosuma as soon as possible (and congratulations!).
-
Impostor does not have the means to pay contributors at this time. This is why submissions are (and always will be!) free.
-
You may be sent suggested edits if your work is chosen for publication. You are not required to approve them, and this will not affect our decision to publish your work.
-
By accepting publication, you grant Impostor first electronic rights. We kindly ask that Impostor be credited with first publication if your poem appears elsewhere in the future. All rights revert back to the author upon publication.
-
Editors, with permission, may use credited excerpts from published pieces for promotional purposes on social media.
